Intro - about HBLC and Lawrence Spilg
This website is about HBLC Inc, a debt collection agency in Cary, Illinois. I am not an an employee of, nor am I affiliated with, HBLC nor its president, Lawrence Keith Spilg nor its registered agent (and Spilg's wife) Jennifer Lynn McAllister. Spilg and attorney Steven J. Fink also conduct business under the name JRSI (Judgment Recovery Services) with a very similar M.O. of suing in civil court on junk debts.
UPDATES:
As of April 2014, no legal action has been filed as promised by Mr. Fink in his August 2013 correspondence.
In August 2013 I received a letter from attorney Steven Fink, demanding that I remove parts of the site which he says are "not proper." He is threatening to pursue legal action against me with the intent of getting an injunction ordering me to remove the site or parts thereof. Due to this, I am requesting and encouraging others to copy, mirror and reproduce the material from this site--even if Fink is successful in having me ordered to take the site down, I could not be expected to have control over what others do.
On 5/27/2013 I sent a letter to HBLC employee Cynthia Rogers in an attempt to amicably resolve my matter with her company. She responded by calling the police on me on 5/13/2013, and apparently alleging that she felt threatened. She had the police contact my elderly mother. My letter merely demanded that I would take legal action if this matter is not resolved, and I even offered to sit down with them face-to-face and discuss.
The purpose of this website is to share public domain info which may be helpful to consumers who have been named in civil lawsuits by HBLC, regarding alleged credit card debts. These may include Orchard Bank, Discover amongst others. HBLC routinely purchases such debts and then sues the alleged debtors in civil court. Unfortunately, Spilg, McAllister nor their attorney Steven J. Fink often make no efforts to determine whether the person actually owes the debt, and thus the consumer has no idea who HBLC is until they are served with a summons.
If you have reached this website in an effort to contact HBLC or Spilg directly, a listed business address is:
2615 3 Oaks Rd Ste 1C2
Cary, IL 60013-6119
If unable to reach at that address, public record indicates that Lawrence Spilg and Jennifer McAllister reside at:
544 Abbeywood Drive
Cary, IL 60013
Some of HBLC's lawsuits include affidavits signed by Cynthia Spilg Rogers (Lawrence Keith Spilg's sister) and notarized by her husband Brian Rogers. In the affidavits, Cynthia often attests to various facts regarding a consumer's alleged debt... which is odd, given the fact that she does not seem to work at any of the banks in question, but rather runs a small business known as "Sewing Creations by Cindie". If you are in receipt of an affidavit endorsed by Cynthia Rogers and/or notarized by Brian, and you or your attorney have questions for them, public record indicates that they reside at the following address
980 Woodbridge Drive
Cary, IL 60013
Also note that they live in the same (Fox Trails) subdivision, just two minutes' drive from one another... this could be helpful to those who might wish to meet with Spilg and Rogers to discuss settlement of their case in person!
An e-mail point of contact for Cynthia is: cindiesews4u@gmail.com
